only seven days ’til christmas.. :)! and, thanks to lone wolf, we’ve got an early christmas present for you.

meet lone wolf. leeds-based paul marshall’s new moniker and a brand new project that’s promising a lot. or, at least, to “sound GRAND!”, as he put it to me in an email. his new album the devil and i is released in april 2010 on the wonderful bella union, and, if any of his previous stuff is to go by, it’s going to be a beaut.
but, whilst we’re all waiting to hear the new material, mr wolf is playing santa and giving us all a little gift. a cover of everybody’s favourite christmas song, ‘fairytale of new york’ by the pogues, that he recorded last year in his freezing cold bathroom. here’s a little message he’s left his fans on myspace..
“hi everyone.
whilst myself and the folks at bella union were working hard on the final touches to the new album, i realised, hey it’s christmas time and who am i to neglect you with this horrific lack of sound on my myspace page.
paul marshall fans may remember that last year i recorded a demo version of my interpretation of mine and most people’s favourite christmas song ‘fairytale of new york’ in my freezing cold bathroom.
so i thought it might be nice while you’re all patiently waiting to hear some lone wolf at this joyous time of year, i’d give you all another chance to hear the cover.
i have actually selected the option for you all to download it for free, however i can’t see how you’re supposed to do it on this new fancy myspace player. but like all things at christmas, it’s the thought that counts.
